AEW ALL IN LONDON 2024 - Wembley Stadium
THE YOUNG BUCKS © vs FTR vs THE ACCLAIMED (AEW TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH)
A rematch of the world tag team title match last year as All In, with FTR and The Young Bucks facing off. With the addition of The Acclaimed due to a time limit draw in the number one contenders match just weeks ago on Collision.
The Young Bucks and FTR appear to start the match before Nicholas Jackson tags in Max Caster of The Acclaimed, as the champions would rather see the other two teams fight before getting involved in the match. A clever but unsurprising tactic from the Bucks.
Both teams start the match evenly with all four men from FTR and The Acclaimed in the ring to square up to one another. Before their attention quickly turns to the champs on the outside, who want nothing to do with the match currently. Both teams employ a smart strategy as two men go round the ring and the remaining men stay in the ring, which the Young Bucks run into to get away from the outside.
The Acclaimed and FTR then beating down both of the Jacksons before they were sent to the outside by both teams. Cash and Max remain in the ring as The Acclaimed show good teamwork to keep Cash down on the mat. But as Anthony Bowens goes for a Scissor Me Timbers he is blindsided by the tag from Nicholas Jackson, who takes out both members to take advantage of a beaten down Cash Wheeler.
The Young Bucks take control of the match, with Nicholas taunting the London crowd. A reversal from Cash with an uppercut, leads to a near tag to Dax before he is pulled away from the apron by Matthew Jackson as Cash is left stranded in the ring.
After finding himself in the wrong corner, Cash is then tagged out by Anothony Bowens who comes into the match almost fresh. A flurry of moves from Bowens leads to the first near fall of the match. Now Caster joins his team mate in the ring as they look for a Scissor Me Timbers on both Matthew & Nicholas which connects well, unfortunately for the Bucks. The London crowd cheers as Max and Anothony scissor their hands in the middle of the ring.
Dax Harwood then introduced into the match, with consecutive German Suplexes to Bowens and Caster. The Young Bucks then reenter the match as they look for a two on one situation, with Dax then suplexing both men at the same time in a huge feat of strength. Then joined by his team mate Cash, as they suplex both men simultaneously. Tony Schiovane then describing the last few minutes of action exactly how it was “a suplex fest”.
A great sequence from all competitors as Bowens & Dax suplex Matthew from the top rope, leading to a Powerplex attempt from Cash before Matthew gets his knees up. Caster then looks for an elbow to Cash, however Cash manages to get his knees up to block. Then a hat trick of failed attempts as Nicholas looks for a 450 splash which is also blocked by the knees of Caster.
“All guys are hurting” said by Taz as all men make their way to their feet. Looking at each other before everyone has the same idea of a clothesline, with all men then laid out in the middle of the ring due to this.
Two men remain in the ring with Dax and Matthew going back and forth before a spiking DDT from Dax puts Matthew down. As FTR looked for a piledriver from the top rope a reversal from Matthew then Cash took out from the top turnbuckle by a diving Nicholas Jackson. He is not finished there, as he immediately goes to the apron saying “see ya” before an almost punt kick to Max Caster on the outside.
The Bucks then look for a finish before Cash intercepts to send Nicholas off the top rope backwards. With a spectacular back flip from Nicholas as he takes out The Acclaimed behind him.
With Nicholas distracted on the outside, FTR takes advantage with a Shatter Machine to Matthew. However before referee Rick Nocks can make the 3 count he is pulled from the ring by Nicholas Jackson. Saving the match and the title reign of the Young Bucks for the time being.
Before going back in the ring, Nicholas is confronted by an angry Billy Gunn, who chases him into the ring, unfortunately receiving a super kick for his troubles. Cash Wheeler looks for a spear on the apron before Nicholas moves out the way, then planting Dax with a face buster. Before hopping the ropes and spiking Bowens on the outside with a spinning DDT.
The Bucks now back in the ring with a helpless Dax Harwood as they look for an EVP Trigger. Unsuccessful as Cash takes out Nicholas, followed by a big kick from Caster. Who is then trying to be persuaded that he should join Matthew to delivery an EVP Trigger to Dax, which he accepts.
In typical heel fashion, Matthew then looks for a superkick on Caster even though he has just helped him. Caster is equal to it and pushes Jackson onto the ropes before hoisting him up to deliver a monstrous Shatter Machine with the help of Cash Wheeler. Max Caster has now delivered two finishers in this match, neither of which are his, nor with his tag team partner!
Looking to end the match, Wheeler drags his partner to Matthew Jackson and orders Rick Nocks to count. Bowens then flies from the top rope to push Wheeler onto Harwood and break up the pin. Endless action in this AEW Tag Team Title match, all teams leaving it all in the ring.
Rounds of applause around Wembley for these athletes as there is the first real break in the match.
The Acclaimed looking to end the match with Matthew Jackson up on their shoulders. However, Nicholas comes back in the frame and the Young Bucks cover the eyes of the official as they deliver low blows to both members of The Acclaimed.
Both Young Bucks members then pump up their collaboration sneakers with Reebok, before Cash appears on the ropes before being taken out with a double superkick. Then continuing the superkicks to both members of The Acclaimed, creating a superkick party to try to end the match. Billy Gunn can be seen panicking as he mounts the ring to try to break up the pin, before a kick out at 2 by Bowens.
Additional dirty tactics from the Bucks as they try to use one of their tag teams titles before Billy Gunn intercepts and plants Matthew Jackson with a Famouser on the title in the middle of the ring as Rick Nocks back is turned. The Acclaimed capitalise and hit a mic drop elbow from the top rope on Matthew before Nicholas intercepts the pin to keep the match alive.
FTR reinvigorate their chances in the match with Cash launching Nicholas to the outside onto The Acclaimed. Followed by a toppe suicida from Cash to The Acclaimed as Nicholas smartly moves out of the way.
The match goes on as Nicholas tries to hit Harwood with the title, with disqualifications not a problem for the champions as they would regain the titles. However, Harwood ducks out of the way sending Nicholas to the outside, with Harwood then trying a roll up pin to win the match.
As the referee's back is turned, Dax’s momentum takes him to the ropes where he is met by Nicholas hitting Harwood on the top of the head with the title, which he had missed with just moments earlier. Dax somehow manages to kick out, possibly just on instinct alone. The Young Bucks waste no time, then deliver a powerful EVP Trigger that echoes through Wembley.
1..2...3! Despite Cash Wheeler’s last ditch efforts to break up the pin, the Young Bucks go on to retain the titles in controversial fashion.
Following the conclusion of the match, The Young Bucks are confronted in the ring by Grizzled Young Veterans. With Excalibur saying “the Liverpool natives, calling out the EVP’s”. Shortly after Gibson and Drake then target FTR, praying on the weakened bodies after the brutal match they have just been involved in.
Cash Wheeler folded in half by GYV as they look to send a message to the AEW tag team division on the biggest stage of the year.
