AEW ALL IN LONDON 2024 - Wembley Stadium

CASINO GAUNTLET MATCH

Starting off the match with Orange Cassidy and Kazuchika Okada, with both men getting a great reception from the London crowd. Cassidy with a Mr Bean like spotlight video before coming out, to the amusement of the UK fans. Then a surprise entrant in Okada, which takes the fans back and they can be heard saying “OHHHH” in response to the penny dropping entrance music for the Rainmaker.

A false sense of security for Orange as Okada opens his arms to embrace him. They both embrace as former members of CHAOS in NJPW, before Okada’s face turns motionless, then beating down Cassidy. Then going for the Rainmaker early before Orange has his hands in his pockets for his signature stance, before dodging Okada and dropping kicking him to send him to the mat.

Both men go back and forth with Okada now in control as the countdown begins to the next challenger to enter the match. The crowd erupts as the music starts, before the camera goes to the stage to show Nigel McGuinness! The colour commentator for Collision, who hasn’t wrestled since retiring in 2011 has returned to action at Wembley Stadium!

The UK crowd gives a great reception for one of their home talents as they chant “OH NIGEL MCGUINNESS” as he enters the ring to be face to face with Okada. Many would consider this to be a dream match, likely to never happen but they stand across the ring from each other for the first time in 2024.

The two competitors exchange blows before McGuinness lands a big left hand taking Okada off his feet. McGuinness looking like he hasn’t missed a step as he takes out Okada with a chop in the corner before Cassidy comes back into the fold before a heavy lariat from McGuinness leads to the first near fall of the match.

The countdown starts again as Kyle O’Reilly runs to the ring, wasting no time. O’Reilly gets the better of McGuinness with a PK kick to the face before a dragonscrew to the knee of Okada between the ropes. All three men having their moments in this match, with O’Reilly being the fresher of all he seems to maintain the upper hand. With his excellent counter and submission skills, O’Reilly has a hold locked in before McGuinness applies his own hold before Cassidy comes back into the match.

Both Conglomeration members work well together as they take McGuinness out of the match for the time being, much to the disappointment of the crowd. Also with great teamwork as O’Reilly applies a spinning kick to the back of the ankles along with a dropkick from Cassidy to take down Okada, as the countdown begins again.

The fifth entrant into the match…another home grown talent and surprise in the form of NJPW TV champion, Zack Sabre Jr, who also receives a warm welcome from Wembley. Despite being in a two on one situation, ZSJ makes relatively easy work of Cassidy and O’Reilly. Then receiving a tap on the shoulder as he is greeted by Nigel McGuinness, with the UK fans rising to their feet, as another two dream match opponents come face to face in the ring as All In. Chants of “HOLY SH**” and “BRITISH WRESTLING” as both men battle it out in the ring.

A good exchange between the two men before Okada comes back in to eliminate McGuinness from the scenario for the time being. He then looks at Sabre Jr as Excalibur says “a lot of history between these two men in NJPW, now facing off in an AEW ring”, which many would have considered impossible just 5 years earlier when AEW came into existence.

The Rainmaker takes control as he counters one of ZSJ’s many holds into a neck breaker, body slam and elbow from the top rope. Okada then hypes the crowd up as he seems to do his signature pose in the middle of the ring, before throwing his middle finger to the crown, which he finds amusing. The UK fans then returned the favour right back to Okada.

Zack Sabre Jr then takes back control as he puts Okada in a hold before showing him two fingers, with a phrase the UK fans approve of. Kyle O’Reilly then comes in and is met with another hold from ZSJ simultaneously to Okada.

The next competitor countdown begins…as Roderick Strong enters the match. A frantic start from Strong as he clears the ring of all competitors, including launching O’Reilly onto Sabre Jr’s back. O’Reilly then countered into a guillotine to Roderick Strong before a dropkick and back breaker, leaving O’Reilly flattened in the middle of the ring as the next countdown began.

Excalibur saying what many people will be thinking with “a quick interval there” before this countdown. “Reach for the sky boy” greeted with cheers from Wembley as Mark Briscoe made his way to the ring. Briscoe delivers some “redneck Kung Fu” as labelled on commentary to Okada and Roderick Strong. ZSJ then goes back into the match as he looks to catch Briscoe, but the ROH world champion ducks before flying between the ropes to take out Okada on the outside.

A great showcase of technical wrestling in this match, with counter after counter and impressive holds and moves throughout. ZSJ sent to the outside by O’Reilly before turning and Briscoe with a diving flip from the outside to take down ZSJ on the outside, before high fives to the crowd as he is hyped up.

The Conglomeration then took control with Briscoe given a chair as a tool to help jump over the top rope by Cassidy and O’Reilly, which he gladly uses taking out Strong and McGuninness. Each member then high fiving one another in the ring as they await the next opponent, with the countdown following.

A crazed and angry cowboy is next as Hangman Adam Page comes into the match. Chants of “COWBOY SH**” echo through Wembley as Hangman takes care of the Conglomeration, even using members as weapons against each other. Page on a roll as ZSJ and Okada sent to the outside before they could properly enter the ring.

Then a fall away slam to counter a cross body attempt from Orange Cassidy from the top rope. All before jumping over the ropes to take out Okada and McGuinness. Along with a pop up power bond to Strong onto the ring apron as the All In crowd gasps from the impact. Hangman then looks for a Buckshot Lariat, dodged by Orange who looks for the Orange Punch, which Page counters into the Deadeye. With only Mark Briscoe there to stop Page winning the match, as the countdown appears again.

The familiar siren sounds as The Last Outlaw Jeff Jarrett receives a great reaction from the UK fans. Jarrett and Page exchange brief words before exchanging right hands, as all other competitors are greeted with right hands, sending them down as Roderick Strong with a great sell of the last as he exits the ring.

A signature strut down the middle of the ring from Jarrett before he goes to the turnbuckle and gives big right hands to Hangman Page as the crowd counts each one. However, before they can get to 10 Hangman lifts Jarrett and throws him over the top rope to all opponents on the outside. Bodies strewn everywhere around the commentary desk as a crazed but determined Page shouts “stay out of my way!”.

Karen Jarrett then bravely shouts at Hangman on the ropes, which Hangman doesnt take well, given his recent change in attitude. With Page realising there is another countdown he lets go of Karen as he pleads and focuses on the next person entering the match.

A brief hush descends on Wembley as the entrance music is unfamiliar, however quickly turns to cheers and shock as everyone realises another surprise entrant. The debut of the strongly rumoured new addition to AEW in Ricochet! As he looks round and takes in the atmosphere of his new home, with pyro to match.

His introduction to the match is “mixing it up with an AEW original” as he battles Hangman Page. The crowd on their feet as he takes in the atmosphere for a brief moment. Ricochet taking down anyone is his way, with a 619 like move to O’Reilly on the second turnbuckle, before a big right arm clothesline almost from the top rope. A spectacular shooting star press from the top rope onto 6 of his competitors on the outside shows the control he has on the match currently.

Ricochet then has Hangman down in the ring as he looks to go to the top rope before being stopped in his tracks by Page, as the countdown timer returns. The next competitor moving to the ring as a walking wounded competitor in Christian Cage. The man who seems to have an obsession with himself and getting gold only he can have but can’t win without help.

Ricochet immediately turns his attention to Cage before he even enters the ring, taking him out with a cross body from the top rope. Leaving him down on the outside before even making an impact on this match.

After going back into the ring and delivering a spinning kick to Roderick Strong, Ricochet is then on the receiving end of a vicious Buckshot Lariat from Page. Folding and sending Ricochet flipping into the air, a great sell of the move from him. However, before he can get the three count Okada with a nonchalant kick to the back of Hangman’s head. With most of the crowd seeing the funny side of this, although Hangman seems to get more annoyed by this.

Okada and Hangman with a back and forth including a beautiful drop kick from Okada and spinning clothesline from Hangman. As he looks for the Buckshot, he is distracted by Karen Jarrett until he turns around to get a thunderous guitar shot to the head from Jarrett.

The sequence of the match then follows with every man involved. A rainmaker to Jarrett, with an attempted one to ZSJ which is countered into a hold, then Orange Cassidy looks for a roll up pin to a near fall. Then jumping up into an Orange Punch to Okada before trying one on ZSJ who scouts it into numerous roll up counters himself. An Orange punch then connects to Sabre Jr as he rolls out of the ring.

A flurry of opponents then enter as Roderick Strong gives an End Of Heartache to Cassidy. However, as he sits up, Mark Briscow with an elbow to the top rope to Strong ends his momentum. Nigel McGuinness counters the Jay Driller before going upright on the top turnbuckle, which is stopped by a nasty knee to the chest from Kyle O’Reilly.

Both Conglomeration members are now looking to work together to end the match. Although McGuinness is able to counter into a Tower Of London move onto both of his competitors, but still can't get the three count he would so desperately love. He then runs the ropes looking for a clothesline, interrupted by Roderick Strong with a running high knee. However, McGuinness is still able to deliver the clothesline after picking himself up between the ropes as seen many times by Jon Moxley over the years. A clothesline so vicious commentary describes it as “he knocked his block off”.

Unluckily for McGuinness he turns round to be hit with a thunderous spear from Christian Cage. Looking for the pin on O’Reilly but as the countdown begins he seems to think better of this. Christian now looks at the ramp in disbelief as he sees his fellow Patriarchy member coming to the ring in Luchasaurus.

Luchasaurus for a split second seems to want to get his hands on Christian, as Cage begs him not to. However, Cage is then moved to the side as Luchasaurus turns his attention to Kyle O’Reilly to deliver a monumental choke slam. Then pulling Christian over O’Reilly for the one, two, three for the victory.

This then seems to take the wind out of the Wembley crowd who don’t seem to have expected that result. Unfortunately, the new reality is that the leader of The Patriarchy can now have a shot at the AEW world championship whenever he likes. With the camera then going to the ramp of Mother & Nick Wayne applauding Christian as he holds the contact up in the middle of the ring. Another example of how Christian Cage can not win a match without the help of The Patriarchy.
