Baltimore Ravens vs Buffalo Bills (NFL Divisional Round Playoffs)

1ST QUARTER

13:37 ON THE CLOCK: Baltimore starts the game, with the ball in the hands of Lamar Jackson. He runs with the ball on 3rd & 8, out of the pocket and getting the first down. Then a few plays later Jackson shows the other side of his game as he throws for 30 yards to Isaiah Likely, who travels with the ball close to the 20 yard line. Another 3rd down for the Ravens with Jackson stepping out of the pocket and taking his time before another perfect throw to Rashod Batemen for the opening touchdown and score of the game. Baltimore leads 7-0.

9:55 ON THE CLOCK: The Bills on their 32 yard line with a 3rd & 8 they needed to convert. Josh Allen looks to go long, with an inch perfect pass to Khalil Shakir who makes the catch as he runs and turns back to the ball. The Bills are well within Ravens territory but have to convert on 4th down as Allen runs himself through the Ravens defense for the first down. A 1st & 10 is handed off to James Cook to drive through tackles and down the side to get the Bills within a yard of the first down. A great run to get the Bills in a good position. A 2nd & GOAL attempt is given to Ray Davis who goes through the Ravens defense with relative ease into the endzone. The score is tied at 7-7.

3:58 ON THE CLOCK: Lamar Jackson gets the ball deep in his own half on 2nd & 11. He looks deep towards Bateman but it is overthrown and intercepted by Taylor Rapp, with the Bills fans and sideline going wild for the turnover. The Bills get the ball back in a potentially crucial play in this game with the first turnover. However, Buffalo is unable to make the turnover count with good defending from the Ravens.

2ND QUARTER
14:14 ON THE CLOCK: 1st & 10 for Baltimore with Jackson using the running game again for a first down and more. Then a 3rd & 9 as Jackson throws it to Anthony Miller who travels well with the ball before being tackled just shy of the 25 yard line. A few plays later the ball slips into the air with Jackson catching it and tries to run with it before it slips out again! The Bills Linebacker Von Miller picks up the loose ball and runs before Justice Hill tackles him and has him down on the 20 yard line. Another turnover in possession for the Bills defense.

10:20 ON THE CLOCK: A 2nd & 7 on the 21 yard line for the Bills. Josh Allen throws it to Shakir who holds on for the 1st & GOAL for a new set of downs inside the 10. The 2nd & GOAL is good as they go for the tush push just a few yards from the goal line. Another touchdown for the Bills, this time their QB1 gets the yardage needed. The bills lead 7-14.

8:46 ON THE CLOCK: Lamar Jackson yet again uses his pace and agility to run with the ball for yet another first down. A weapon that so many defenses in the league can’t seem to handle. The next play again shows the all round ability of the Ravens QB as he throws from beyond midfield to find Wide Receiver Rashod Batemen within the 5 yard line. Unfortunately, Bateman is tackled and unable to make the touchdown but sets up the 1st & GOAL. Baltimore can’t make their positive position lead to a touchdown as they are stopped on each down. The 4th & GOAL is a 26 yard field goal attempt by Justin Tucker, which is good. Baltimore 10-14 Bills.

2:55 ON THE CLOCK: Buffalo has the ball on the 43 yard line as Allen hands it off to Davis who runs well with the ball for the first down plus nearly 15. The next play is handed to Davis again who goes through the Ravens defense fairly easily before being just short of the first down. A 3rd & 5 looks to be no good for the Bills before a penalty flag is thrown for a foul on Keon Coleman puts the Bills just outside the 10 yard line. With minimal time remaining and 3rd & 2 the Bills run the ball again with Josh Allen. He bulldozes his way into the endzone with help from his Offensive Line for the touchdown. The Bills extend their lead to 10-21 before half time.

HALF TIME - BALTIMORE RAVENS 10 - 21 BUFFALO BILLS

3RD QUARTER

13:00 ON THE CLOCK: 3rd & 5 for Baltimore as Mark Andrews is found in some space for the first down and more. The next play is handed to Derrick Henry, he powers his way through the defenders for consecutive first downs. The Ravens are on the 34 yard line when Jackson finds Bateman. Bateman is stopped by a hard but fair tackle by Matt Milano as the Ravens are forced to kick a field goal. The 47 yard attempt by Tucker is a “beautiful kick” as said on commentary to give the Ravens another 3 points. 13-21 in favour of the Bills.

4:08 ON THE CLOCK: After the Bills tried and failed to get their offense going, the Ravens have the ball back again. A 3rd & 1 is given to Henry who looks to be away before a last ditch vital tackle stops his progress by Safety Damar Hamlin. They then get more consecutive first downs with Jackson throwing to Andrews who stiff arms his way to the yardage needed. Justice Hill continues the good progress with a good run from midfield to the 20 yard line. Another run from Derrick Henry then sets up the Ravens with a 1st & GOAL. He gets the ball again and drives through the Bills defense with his power and makes the touchdown. The Ravens then try a 2-point conversion which is unsuccessful after good defending from Buffalo. Baltimore 19-21 Buffalo.

4TH QUARTER

12:12 ON THE CLOCK: The Bills look for a penalty flag on 3rd & 8 as Allen tries to find Shakir, with a possible holding or pass interference call that wasn’t given. Therefore, a 51 yard field goal is attempted and is a great kick by Tyler Bass. Ravens 19-24 Bills.

8:51 ON THE CLOCK: Lamar Jackson gets the ball back on the 45 yard line and throws to the 45 yard line to Mark Andrews. Terrel Bernard then punches the ball out when tackling Andrews and it is recovered by Buffalo for yet another turnover.

8:41 ON THE CLOCK: Josh Allen finds Mack Hollins to get the drive off to the perfect strat with back to back first downs. A 2nd & 5 is thrown to Ty Johnson who travels with the ball for the first down. The drive continues to 3rd & GOAL as Josh Allen tries to force his way through the Ravens defense but is stopped promptly and unable to get the touchdown. A 4th & GOAL field goal from 21 yards is good. The Bills lead 19-27.

2:14 ON THE CLOCK: A 2nd & 7 for the Ravens as Lamar Jackson goes out of the pocket and towards the sideline before a great throw despite pressure to find Tylan Wallace near the 40 yard line. He runs with the ball for an extra nearly 15 yards. A few plays later Jackson takes his time on second down to find an open Mark Andrews, who makes it to the 25 yard line before going out of play to save time in a smart move. On the next play, the Ravens Offensive Line gives Lamar Jackson plenty of time and space with great defending to throw into the endzone to a sliding Isaiah Likely with a great catch. The Ravens go for the 2-point attempt with just over 90 seconds left on the clock. Jackson is handed the ball and immediately goes right before throwing to Mark Andrews. He is unable to catch the ball as it slips agonisingly through his hands.

1:33 ON THE CLOCK: The Ravens try a last ditch attempt at an onside kick to keep the game alive. However, it goes safely into the hands of Cornerback Rasul Douglas. The Bills decide to run with the ball on 1st & 10 with Ty Johnson getting the first down and more before sliding down wisely. Josh Allen then takes a knee with 38 seconds remaining to send the Buffalo Bills to the Conference Championship game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
