AEW ALL IN LONDON 2024 - Wembley Stadium
WORLD TRIOS LONDON LADDERS MATCH
The contest to open All In 2024, AEW’s biggest event of the year. Wembley Stadium playing host for the second consecutive year. Excalibur opens the broadcast with “IT’S WEMBLEY, YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS”, continuing to pay homage to Mr Brodie Lee over 3 and a half years on from his death.
A chaotic strat to the match with battles happening all around the ring. With weapons being introduced almost immediately. All teams looking to end the match quickly as they try their luck early on. Each member met by one of their opponents to stop them in their tracks with thumping super kicks, big right hands and thunderous clotheslines.
A great sequence as Juice Robinson takes out Claudio Castagnoli with a running front flip from the apron. Malakai Black then takes out his opponents diving through the ropes to the outside. Both Wheeler Yuta & Buddy Matthews also try their luck effectively, with Buddy checking in on his team mate Malakai in a smart move for their team.
In the middle of the ring, PAC stands alone looking around Wembley Stadium, with a roar from the UK crowd for one of their homegrown talents. Nigel McGuinness with a call back to PAC’s WWE days when saying “the man that gravity forgot, as PAC goes to the top turnbuckle on the outside, flipping and twisting backwards taking out all of his opponents. He turns to the crowd pumped up as the volume level rises in London.
The Gunns have PAC down in the ring, with a “wassap” headbutt from the top rope, before looking at each other then looking at Juice Robinson on the apron. The Wembley crowd knows what’s coming as the Gunns countdown “3, 2, 1…” Wembley responds with “GET THE TABLES!”
Juice takes too long as Brody King comes into the ring to bulldoze the Gunns out of the way before diving between the ropes with a tope suicida taking out those on the outside, but also taking out his team mates in doing so.
With bodies laying out all over the outside of the ring, Christian Cage re-emerges looking to seize the opportunity after running backstage at the start of the match, trying to reclaim “his” titles as he would say. His efforts quickly squandered as Brody and Claudio launched Christian over the top rope to his enemies in the match. Christian is caught by everyone on the outside, you can see the fear come over his face as everyone stares at him. They put Christian down with everyone apart from Nick Wayne & Killswitch now surrounding him, then beating Christian down as simultaneous cheers ring out through the crowd.
With everyone occupied with Christian Cage, Mother Wayne now looks to climb a ladder herself, quickly made to regret her decision as she is confronted by Colten & Austin Gunn. Then leaving the ring as Killswitch gives stiff chokeslams to the Gunns, with Juice Robinson and PAC meet the same fate. Claudio then tries to use his strength but then is met with a firm headbutt instead, with Wheeler Yuta then chokeslammed onto Claudios back, with the connection echoing round the stadium.
A ladder seems to slow down Killswitch momentarily from Malakai Black, however he then receives a chokeslam through the same ladder in the corner, as Killswitch seems unstoppable. Brody seems to want to try his luck before he is also met with a headbutt before, out of nowhere, Nick Wayne delivers a Wayne’s World to King through a table on the outside. However, it seems to do the same amount of damage to both men, possibly backfiring on Wayne.
All competitors are down except from Killswitch, who stands alone in the ring after his dominance of the last few minutes. Whilst climbing a ladder to recapture the gold for his team, inevitably Christian reappears to try and steal the spotlight for himself again. The waste in time costs them as Juice & Yuta push them off the ladder, taking both Patriarchy members out.
House of Black looks to take control as Brody King has the London crowd with him doing his signature “roo, roo, roo” chants before delivering his explosive cannonball to Yuta with simultaneous kicks from Matthews & Black. As King looks to do the same to Juice Robinson on the other side, the Gunns counter with a perfect 3:10 To Yuma.
The Gunns try the same with Claudio who counters greatly with an uppercut to Austin whilst mid air. Then bouncing off the middle rope with a corkscrew uppercut to Colten Gunn. Juice Robinson tries and fails with a super kick before being put in a familiar position to the fans by Castagnoli. The UK fans erupt as they know what this means…Juice is going or a ride.
After nearly 20 spins, Juice is met with a drop kick by Yuta and Black Arrow soon after from Pac. The endless action continues as PAC and Yuta then dive through the ropes as many others have in the match to take out more of their opponents.
More battles at the top of ladders as Brody King and Claudio Castagnoli slug it out, however chair shots to their backs from Colten & Austin Gunn put a stop to their progress. Both Gunns then immediately look to introduce tables to the match inside the ring. As Claudio and King look to climb the ladders again, Colten & Austin cling to their backs, both men begin to fade. With only one outcome looking likely…all men go through the tables set up just minutes before.
All remaining members battle it out with Malakai Black battles with Nick Wayne, with Malakai then standing on the apron. Nick Wayne then jumps through the ropes to deliver a diving destroyer to Black through a table on the outside. With chants of “HOLY SH**!” breaking out from the fans.
The cameras pan over to Juice Robinson who is bringing out a huge ladder from under the ring. The ladder is almost too big as when in the middle of the ring it can touch the titles hanging down. Robinson thinks he’s all alone until Christian reappears yet again and pushes the ladder over, with an unfortunate landing for Juice as both legs land on either side of the ropes.
As Christian is turning round PAC tries to catch him by surprise but gets a chair to the face. Cage then wastes no time and takes out PAC with a Killswitch on a chair, with packing selling a dazed look on his face to good effect.
Dirty tactics then come into play as Cage sprays Yuta in the eyes, all legal in a match of this type, which Cage will be delighted with. Then putting a ladder on Yuta’s back and thumping the ladder with a chair multiple times.
As Christian is still in the ring Juice Robinson then reemerges but Christian moves him to the side of the ring with a chair round Robinson unable to move much. Robinson then employs some dirty tactics of his own as he lifts his leg backwards for a low blow to Cage. Mother Wayne, not happy with this, then tries to spray Juice in the eyes which he cleverly blocks with a chair before taking control of the spray himself and spraying Mother Wayne. With the crowd roaring their approval for Juice’s antics.
The crowd then on their feet almost in disbelief as Robinson has Mother Wayne on the apron, with her head in between his legs and seems to want to put her through the table. Killswitch manages to intercept just in time to stop the inevitable, but Juice after tries to jump the ropes and is met with a big boot from Killswitch sending Juice Robinson through the table on the outside.
Christian and Killswitch now alone in the ring as Christian climbs the ladder with Killswitch on guard duties. However, not done very well as Buddy Matthews reenters the frame and is brought down by Killswitch who looks for another chokeslam but countered by a big knee from Matthews. Matthews then follows up by throwing a chair at the big man to attempt to neutralise him.
The House Of Black member then sets up another ladder to try and take the titles away from Christian. Cage spots this and turns towards Buddy Matthews, then spearing Matthews through the air and onto a ladder propped up in the corner. However, Christian starts clutching his head possibly from an awkward landing from the move.
Loud boos ring around Wembley Stadium as Killswitch tries to get Christian up the ladder to retain the titles for the Patriarchy. Christian has fingertips on the titles as PAC climbs up the other side of the ladder. Seemingly spurred on by pure adrenaline and the atmosphere from his home crowd roaring him on.
In a last ditch effort, Christian tries to stop PAC who delivers a mighty boot to the face of Cage as he falls back off the ladder, taking out Killswitch in the process. PAC is then alone at the top of the ladder, reaching out and grabbing the titles to become a 2x AEW World Trios Champion!
Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta & PAC are NEW AEW World Trios Champions! With the Wembley crowd erupting in elation for one of their home heroes winning the titles. A show of good sportsmanship after the match as House of Black members come into the ring and congratulate PAC on his victory.
A moment that will live long in the memory of PAC, his teammates from Blackpool Combat Club and those in attendance!
