AEW ALL IN LONDON 2024 -Wembley Stadium
Jack Perry © vs Darby Allin (TNT Title Coffin Match)
A fiery video package shows the heated rivalry between the two men, culminating in a coffin match at Wembley Stadium. A second coffin match in a row for Darby Allin at Wembley, being previously victorious with his mentor Sting against Swerve Strickland and Christian Cage in 2023. Jack Perry with a much different road from the last All In to now. From being on the kick off show and an altercation backstage leading to the termination of CM Punk’s contract to TNT Champion and aligned with The Elite.
Darby Allin comes to the ring with an intense look, shoving the camera away from his face and hitting his skateboard on the steel steps almost as a guitarist would to smash his guitar on stage. The commentary team also notices Darby has thumbtacks all over his face. A new look of pain but not entirely surprising for the former TNT champion.
Jack Perry enters wearing a goat mask, playing on the nickname he gave himself from the actions at All In 2023. He looks around to embrace the atmosphere, in the same building which must bring back mixed feelings for him. Walking to the ring with his new look TNT Title which he puts on the line in this brutal match. Also bringing a body bag with him to the ring with fire accompanying his entrance.
A waste of no time by Darby as he flies in between the ropes as Perry takes his time entering the ring. With Darby not amused by his lack of urgency to get the match started. Relentless from Allin as he swings the champ into the railings and using the steel chair straight away as Darby looks in no mood to play.
The challenger sits the champion on the chair just used before a drop kick from the top turnbuckle to a waiting Perry sitting on the outside. Darby looks to end the match immediately before Perry stops himself entering the coffin. Darby then stands the coffin up and places Perry next to it as he tries to run into Perry as he did at the start of the match. However, Perry sees this and dives out of the way at the last second, sending Darby crashing into the coffin with a rough landing on the outside.
Even more damage was inflicted to the back of Darby Allin as Perry picked him up and back first onto the coffin, with Allin shouting in pain. For the first time in the match, both men enter the ring with a nasty chop to Allin’s chest reverberating around Wembley.
Jack Perry now looks under the ring and finds a bag with the word “SCAPEGOAT” on it. He then opens the bag and empties it on the mat to reveal broken glass, which goes down extremely well with the UK crowd. Which also gives flashbacks to the “cry me a river” incident from last All In, now infamous in wrestling history.
Chants from the Wembley crowd of “Oh, cry me a river”, almost serenading Jack Perry as he smiles and blows a kiss to the crowd to show his appreciation. Darby Allin then reverses a move and flips Perry onto the broken glass with Excalbur pointing out “too much time spent posturing to the crowd”.
Darby continues his fast paced offence by going to the top rope with his skateboard before jumping and driving it into the spine of Perry. With more chants in favour of Perry of “F**k CM Punk!” from the crowd.
The momentum swings again as Darby has his legs taken out from under him and lands awkwardly on the turnbuckle and apron, leaving him clutching his hip. The champion again goes under the ring and finds tape which he uses to tie Darby’s hands together.
Again the momentum turns as this time Perry takes too long for another move and ends up driving himself into the steel steps rather than his opponent. Darby then goes to the top turnbuckle again with his still taped together, with a Coffin Drop like move to take out Perry on the outside.
A first attempt to close the coffin by Darby before being stopped by the legs of Perry, then kicking Darby and being able to get out of the coffin. Another good point from commentary who says “because his hands were tied, he was unable to block that kick to the ribs”.
The battle now continues up the ramp as both men try to get on top in this match. Perry with a nasty powerbomb to the challenger on the ramp. With a sick smile on his face as he gets another idea of taking Darby’s belt off and using it to whip Darby. Then using the belt to tie Darby’s feet together so that he will be extremely restricted in his movement.
The Champion then mocks Darby in how he would be able to move before picking him up and throwing him off the stage and crashing through multiple tables. Jack Perry collects the body bag he came to the ring with along with the coffin and moves in the direction of Allin.
Darby Allin dragged from the wreckage of the tables and placed into the body bag before being dragged further in the bag to the coffin. A last ditch effort from Darby as he sticks his head out of the bag, trying to get himself out of the coffin before a perfect running knee from Perry. A final moment of disrespect from Perry as he spits on the bag Darby is in as he slams the coffin shut.
AND STILL TNT CHAMPION, THE “SCAPEGOAT” JACK PERRY.
A first ever loss for Darby Allin in a Coffin Match. A brutal performance by The Scapegoat, which may have been needed for the victory. A battle both men will remember for contrasting reasons.
Although, not over yet as The Young Bucks appear with a tank of fuel as they head down the ramp and towards their Elite teammate. Nicholas Jackson pours the fuel over the body bag as well as the top of the coffin. With Jack Perry holding a lighter as he looks to put a permanent end to Darby Allin.
As he looks to the coffin with a grin on his face, the lights go out and Wembley turns into darkness. The intro to Seek & Destroy by Metallica plays, meaning only one man, “IT’S STIIIIIINNNNGGGGG!”
The London crowd erupts for the man that retired earlier this year. Baseball bat in hand, comes down the ring and has his eyes locked on The Elite. Sting enters the ring going straight for The Young Bucks. “The EVPs look like they’ve seen a ghost” says Excalibur, which is one of the only ways to describe the looks on their faces as they stare down at The Icon.
Jack Perry tries a cheap shot to the back of Sting as his back is turned. Sting absorbs the chair shot and turns and stares at the TNT Champion, who panics and exits the ring immediately.
The Icon turns back and has both Jackson brothers locked in his grasp as he delivers a double Scorpion Death Drop. Seek & Destroy plays again as Sting brings Darby Allin out of the coffin and stands tall with him again at the bottom of the ramp.
