AEW ALL IN LONDON 2024 - Wembley Stadium
“Timeless” TONI STORM vs MARIAH MAY (AEW Women's World Championship Match)
Following the betrayal of Timeless Toni Storm after winning the Owen Hart Tournament, with Mariah May viciously attacking the champion and then best friend. She now challenges for the AEW Women's World Title.
The bell rings with the London crowd loudly on the side of the champion. With chants of “TONI…TONI STORM” ringing around Wembley. Somehow surprising considering this is a hometown crowd in London for Mariah May, even though she is the heel in this story.
“Both women battering one another” says Excalibur as both competitors have a fast start. Both women exchange chops that echo through the stadium. Storm looks for a hip attack on the apron which is unsuccessful, May capitalises with a power-bomb on the outside.
Mariah May’s disrespect comes to another level as she spits at Luther, with Aubrey Edwards needing to intervene between the two. A period of dominance for The Glamour, topped off by a lazy, disrespectful cover kicked out quickly by Storm.
Storm tries to gain some momentum as the crowd tries to encourage the champion. Mariah May quickly regains control with a running knee off the apron to Storm on the outside. Nigel McGuinness with a kiss on the head on commentary, which seems to make his day.
A drop kick to Luther on the outside into the barricades, takes him out of the equation. Then one of the most disrespectful things you can do and shocking with a slap to her own Mother by Mariah May. “What kind of woman would slap her own Mother?” says Tony Schiavone with the question everyone is thinking. Taking this heel run to a whole new level.
Toni Storm with a hip attack to May on the apron, followed by solid right hands, then a Storm Zero on the steel steps. “TONI! TONI! TONI!” chants fill the stands before she herself checks on Mariah’s Mother. Mariah cut open on her head from the Storm Zero, which continues to cover her head as the match goes on.
Mariah even when beaten down knows how to be disrespectful and spits in the face of Storm who wipes it off and slaps Mariah May, before a Spinebuster power bomb like move leads to a near fall.
“The angel in the baby blue, flying through the sky” Nigel McGuinness likes what he is seeing as May lands a drop kick from the outside.
Followed by a trifecta of Hip Attacks stolen from her former mentor's arsenal. May goes for a fourth but is met by a powerful clothesline from the champion with a big German Suplex to match as Storm looks for momentum, the crowd willing her on as she delivers a devastating Hip Attack and Strom Zero to May who somehow kicks out at 2.
The pair exchange heavy slaps, with referee Aubrey Edwards looking to break things up, May ushers her out of the way to deliver a low blow to Storm, with Storm immediately returning the favour. Both women look for a head butt as they then both hit the canvas after that great sequence with the crowd on their feet for this contest.
Toni again looks for Storm Zero, countered into a Mayday by Mariah, kicked out by 2 by Storm to May’s disbelief. May then looks for help as she tries to grab the Women's World Title as a weapon. Greeted by Luther on the other end, who drags the title away whilst giving the middle finger to Mariah May, which the London crowd enjoys.
Mariah then looks to use the shoe used to attack Storm just months ago, still with Storm’s blood on the heel. Quickly scouted by Storm who takes it away but can’t bring herself to use it.
The champion tries again for a Storm Zero, reversed into a roll up pin, kicked out at 2 by Storm.
Mariah continues by delivering a running knee to the back of Storm’s head, then off the ropes to deliver another knee, cracking Storm on the jaw.
Immediately into a Storm Zero 1…2…3! AND NEW AEW WOMENS WORLD CHAMPION…”THE GLAMOUR MARIAH MAY”
A great ovation from the All In crowd for a fantastic match and culmination of a great story, months in the making.
“Timeless” Toni Storm distraught in the centre of the ring as she comes to the reality of her world title reign being over.
A send off of “TONI…TONI STORM” fills Wembley Stadium as the now former champion leaves the ring after a memorable time as AEW Womens World Champion.
