Baltimore Ravens vs Buffalo Bills (NFL Week 1 2025)

1ST QUARTER

15:00 ON THE CLOCK: To start the game, the ball is returned by Brandon Codrington to just shy of the 50 yard line. He made his way through the Ravens defense with good blocking from the Bills to ensure Codrington could get as many yards as possible on the play.

12:45 ON THE CLOCK: The Bills continued their first drive with a 3rd & 2 on the 31 yard line. After the ball was placed into QB Josh Allen’s hands he handed it off to Ty Johnson who ran with the ball for a gain that ended up near the 15 yard line.

11:23 ON THE CLOCK: A few plays later a 2nd & 11 for Buffalo around the 15 yard line brought the first touchdown of the game. A pin point pass from Allen to Dalton Kincaid with a catch in the centre of his body to give Buffalo a 7-0 lead after the extra point conversion.

4:34 ON THE CLOCK: Despite advancing on their first drive the Ravens are unable to make a significant move towards the endzone. A 3rd & 8 loss of over 15 yards after a great tackle from DT Ed Oliver left the Ravens needing to rely on rookie Kicker Tyler Loop. However, the 52 yard attempt was good to get the first score on the board for the Ravens, 3-7.

2:26 ON THE CLOCK: With the Bills trying to extend their lead, they tried to rush the ball through to their 45 yard line to get the 1st down from the 3rd & 1. Although the defending from the Ravens is resolute as they stop James Cook well short of the first down.

2ND QUARTER

14:20 ON THE CLOCK: A 3rd & 3 on the just past half way for the Ravens as they continued their drive into the 2nd quarter. Lamar Jackson with a fake hand off before he ran with the ball himself to set up a 1st down on the 30 yard line.

13:43 ON THE CLOCK: The next drive was handed to Derrick Henry who drove through the Bills defense with relative ease to force his way into the endzone for the Ravens’ first touchdown of the game. Baltimore took the lead for the first time in the game 10-7.

11:26 ON THE CLOCK: An unsuccessful drive from Buffalo put the ball back in the hands of Lamar Jackson. A 2nd & 5 from just over their 35 yard line was handed to Derrick Henry again. There was the same outcome in the sense of a driving run from Henry through the Bills defense but was stopped just short of the 15 yard line.

9:51  ON THE CLOCK: Another 2nd & 5 for Baltimore as Lamar Jackson faked the hand off again and ran with the ball himself. Good coverage from the offensive line as they blocked a clear path for their QB to move into the endzone for the touchdown. Baltimore extended their lead to 17-7.

3:40 ON THE CLOCK: Another drive for the Bills ended disappointingly as they tried to get another 1st down or even a touchdown from a 3rd & 8 on the 10 yard line. However, Khalil Shakir was stopped in his tracks from solid defending from the Ravens to keep their lead. The Bills had to go for a field goal on 4th down to put the game within one possession.

1:45 ON THE CLOCK: The Ravens were back on the 17 yard line trying to grow their lead before half time. The ball was handed to Justice Hill but the ball slipped out of his hands and an unfortunate loss of almost 20 yards for his team. The rookie Kicker splits the sticks again on 4th down from 49 yards out to regain the 10 point lead for Baltimore.

0:25 ON THE CLOCK: The first half wasn’t over with minimal time remaining as the Bills went long on the 1st down to try and advance as much as they could. They successfully got over midfield with the first play. With no time outs left they immediately got into formation and ran another play. Allen once again went long and found an open Dalton Kincaid, who managed to get out of bounds with 1 second on the clock. As time ran out, Matt Prater made the field goal from 43 yards out to make it 20-13 going into half time.

3RD QUARTER

13:41 ON THE CLOCK: Lamar Jackson threw the ball on 3rd & 7 downfield and finds Zay Flowers who carried it to near the 20 yard line for a huge gain. The next play is thrown to Flowers again who found space and a gap in the Bills defence to run into the end zone without pressure

8:42 ON THE CLOCK: The Bills looked to respond quickly as Josh Allen tried to find a receiver downfield. However, on the 4th & 5 try pass interference was called putting the Bills in 1st & GOAL range. Allen handed the ball to James Cook who ran into the end zone to keep Buffalo in the game and make it 27-20. The Bills elected to go for a 2-point attempt after another penalty on the Ravens defence which Allen made sure to make them regret and he found Coleman to make the play and narrow the gap even more to 27-21. Despite this, there was more drama as the receiver was deemed to have gone out of bounds then made the catch so the ruling was an incomplete pass and the 2 points taken away back to 27-19.

2:42 ON THE CLOCK: Following offensive drives from both teams which came to nothing, the Ravens had the ball at their 32 yard line. Lamar Jackson found an open Zay Flowers, who ran with the ball to get significant yards on the play. On 2nd & 7 a couple of plays later Jackson floated the ball towards DeAndre Hopkins who managed to make an incredible one handed pass. He was able to fight off the Bills' defense and managed to make the pass and move into the endzone for the touchdown. Buffalo led 34-19 following the drive.

14:06 ON THE CLOCK: Buffalo needed to make a play to get themselves back into the game as they were just shy of midfield on 3rd & 6. The ball was thrown to James Cook who ran threw tackles and had space to run into before his spectacular run came to an end on the 1 yard line. Josh Allen took on the responsibility for the 2nd & GOAL to run into the endzone and get the Bills a much needed touchdown. Allen then tried for an extra 2 points but was unable to find anyone so the score moved to 34-25.

12:36 ON THE CLOCK: The Ravens looked to be in trouble as they were on 3rd & 10 with Lamar Jackson moving backwards to avoid the tackles. However, he managed to weave his way through the rushing defenders before ending up with nearly a 10 yard gain on the play. A phenomenal effort by the Ravens QB. The next play was handed to Derrick Henry who maneuvered through the offensive line and defense of the Bills to run the entire way himself to extend the lead even further with minimal time remaining. Although the extra point was no good as it smashed off the posts to make it 40-25.

4:05 ON THE CLOCK: A steady drive from the Bills as they tried their best to make their way forward for some desperate points to keep the game alive. Notable catches from Dalton Kincaid and Jashua Palmer helped them continue to move forward before 4th & 2 on the 10 yard line. Josh Allen was desperately looking around for an open receiver to throw to before he had to get it out of his hands due to pressure from the Ravens players. He threw in the direction of Dawson Knox, who only managed to tip the ball onto Keon Coleman for the fortunate touchdown. The extra luck that was needed for the Bills appeared to be in. The gap narrowed to 40-32.

3:06 ON THE CLOCK: One of the most reliable people for the Ravens in Derrick Henry looked to move forward with the ball but lost it from good pressure from Defensive Tackle Ed Oliver. The Bills luck appeared to be in again as they retrieved the ball for a fumble and set themselves up with 30 yards to the endzone. Josh Allen immediately made a play and threw the ball to rookie Tight End Jackson Hawes for his first catch and what a time to get it! It set up Buffalo on the 1 yard line. A tush push from the Bills on 3rd & GOAL got them the touchdown. The 2-point attempt to tie the game once again was no good. The game was 40-38 with just under 2 minutes to go.

0:45 ON THE CLOCK: The Bills offense stopped the Ravens from making any advances on their drive as it was handed back to Buffalo. Deon Coleman was able to get his 7th catch of the game to move the Bills up the field along with running from Josh Allen. From the 34 yard line Allen found Coleman again who seemed to be away but was stopped at the last second by Jaire Alexander. As time ran out the game was on the line as Bills Kicker Matt Prater hit the game winning field goal from 32 yards! THE BUFFALO BILLS WIN A BLOCKBUSTER CLASSIC WITH A 4TH QUARTER COMEBACK TO START THEIR SEASON!

An amazing game to kick start the NFL season with 2 of the pound for pound best teams going head to head, which did not disappoint. A game with phenomenal action from start to finish from both teams. From sensational catches and throws to missed extra points, fumbles and unsuccessful 2-point conversions. The win was taken by the Bills with the literal last kick of the game as they look to make their first Super Bowl since 1994.
